Photo Analysis

This is a photograph of what i assume to be a young boy in his fathers arms. When i look at this picture the things that stand out to me are the mans tattoos and plugs and the young boys eyelashes and lips. I like this picture because the man holding the boy doesn't look like your typical dad. The piercings and tattos draw my attention and make the photograph interesting and unique. You can sense a lot of emotion is this picture as the man looks down at the boy that he is holding securely in his arms. Somethings that I wonder about this picture are, what are the mans tattoos of and what significance do they have? How old is the young boy? And where were they and what were they doing when this picture was taken? The insentive that the photographer had to take this was probably the intersting effect of the young boy being held in tattoo filled arms and the emotion you can see between the two subjects in the picture.

This is a photograph of what seems to be a hippie type woman smoking a cigarette. In the background of the picture you notice lots of other people sitting down surrounding her. The womans pose as well as the other people in the photo make me infer that this was probably taken during some sort of music festival since she seems to be dancing and lots of people our gathered together. You could also infer that this photo was taken awhile ago probably during the 1960's or 70's. Questions that arise when I see this are, what kind of music is she dancing too? What type of cigarette is she smoking? How old is the woman in the picture? And is there a reason that she is about the only person in the crowd standing up? I think the photographers instentive to take this was that this perticular girl stands out from the crowd and looks extremely into whatever it is she may be listening too and really represents the emotions coming from this gathering.

This is a live photograph from a White Stripes concert. This photo caught my attention because while it is strongly focused on the emotions between Jack and Meg, there is a whole different story in the audience behind them. The lights shinning from the ceiling allow you to imagine the live experience in the spot lit room while the guitar resting against the amp in the corner shows that it is a calm moment in the performance. While the people in the crowd are having one of the craziest most magical experiences of their lives, Jack and Meg are able to have a moment to themselves. Some questions that this photograph makes me wonder are, is there music playing while Jack and Meg are dancing since neither of them are on their instruments? If so what is playing? What happened at this show to bring them together to stop for a second and bring themselves away from the intensity of the concert while there fans are going crazy behind them? What theater or venue was this picture taken at and when? I think that the fact that neither of the artists are playing music during their performace was the photographers insentive to take the photo because it isn't often that that happens.

I liked this photo because there is a lot going on that makes it interesting and slightly mysterious. There is a man sitting down probably on either the floor or some sort of bed with posters above him. I infer that this was probably taken in this mans room and the posters above him are things that interest him. The posters are able to actually tell us somethings about the man in the picture without ever having met him. Some things i wonder about this picture would be, what is causing the man to make this facial expession and hand gesture? What does the sign hanging behind him say and what language is it in? And what country was this photo taken in? The photographers insentive to take this was probably to capture the different ways people live in different countries.

This is a photograph of a snail whos shell has been grafettied. This picture caught my eye because a snail with graffeti on its shell is definetly not something you see everyday. I like that most of the photograph is slightly blurred other than the snail and the ground directly underneath it.This is a photo that raises a lot of questions in my mind. Who graffetied the snail? Was his name John or is he naming the snail John? Did the person who painted the snail also take the photo or was the photographer someone who came across this snail one day? The photographer of this picture i assume took the picture simply because no one ever sees a snail with a shell like this so they knew it would make an interesting photograph or because they wanted to document the artwork that they just put on the shell.
